Lovebug Scrapbooking's "INSPIRE US!" blog hop for February

Welcome to Lovebug Scrapbooking's "INSPIRE US!" blog hop!! Our blog hops take place on the last Saturday of every month. Thanks so much for joining us! If you just happened by this blog and didn't realize a blog hop was taking place, please go back to Lovebug Scrapbooking and start the Hop. You won't want to miss all the inspiration from our members....... or the prizes :-)

Our theme for February is "Leaps and Bounds". I did a layout on Spring Blooms. My girls love when the cherry blossoms bloom. When the blossoms start to fall off the trees, they call it their pink snow.

A Closer look at the butterfly:

Supplies Used: Making Memories PP, Bazzill CS, Basic Grey Doilies, American Crafts Thickers, Making Memories and Prima Flowers, Prima Bling Swirls, Heidi Swapp Bling - butterfly body, Kaisercraft Pearls - Flower centers, Autumn Leaves Stamp - butterfly, Technique Tuesday Stamp - dots, Cuttlebug Embossing folder - Swiss Dots, Brilliance Ink Graphite Black, Sky Blue and Orchid.

To do the flower, stamp your image on Patterned paper and cut out. For the butterfly I scored down the middle and adhered it to the other butterfly image with glue. I ran the flower through my big shot using the Cuttlebug embossing folder. I adhered the butterfly to the flower using foam tape, to give it more dimension. This gives you an idea of how to use your stamps on a scrapbook page, but would work for a card as well.

If you leave a comment and since Oscars are around the corner, let me know what your favorite movie was this past year was, and I'll enter you into a special RAK from me. If you become a follower of my blog, you will get another entry into my draw.  This blog hop will run from today, February 27th until March 2nd. We will be drawing for winners on March 3rd.

Follow along in our blog hop! Your next stop is Jackie.

1st Day

This is a Layout I did of my daughter Lexy on her fist day of Preschool, 2008. It is based on a PageMaps Sketch, which is being used for a contest at Scrapbooking Competitions for February.

Supplies Used: Prima Whispers PP, Bazzill CS, Paper Doily, Prima Flowers, Prima Bling, MM Buttons, MME Chipboard Square, Chipboard Swirl (unknown source), Distress Ink Antique Linen, Zing Pink Glitter Embossing Powder, Shimmerz Coffee, Shimmerz Blingz Gold Glimmer, Flashee Fuchsia, and Pink Poinsettia, Glimmer Mist Bronze, MLS Mini Alphas, Maya Ribbon, Corner Rounder, Unibal White Pen

On the paper Doily, I rub it with the Distress Ink and while it was wet, I dropped Embossing powder in random spots and heated with my heat gun. Then I misted lightly with Glimmer Mist.

big & little (Sisters 4 ever)

A Layout  I did of my oldest and youngest daughters, Chaelyn and Adryonna.

Supplies Used: Bazzill CS, MME PP Laundry Line and Love Nest, BG Doilies, Tim Holtz Mask and Stamp, Distress Ink- Aged Mahogany, MME Glitter Chipboard Letters, AC Thickers, MLS Mini Alphas, Prima Flower, Glitter Mist-Bronze, Shimmerz Paints.

To make your bazzill dotted paper, put down a mask( I just used the middle portion of the doily), Spray with Glimmer mist, lightly press a paper cloth to dab off excess mist, and rub over with distress ink. Since the Mist is damp, it makes the distress ink react with it, giving a really cool distressed look!

I used a Page Maps Sketch from her February Contest, which can be found here.

Wedding Card #2

This is the card I originally started for my cousins upcoming wedding. It started with a great idea of making a paper cake and it ended up being 3-d. Since I need to send it in the mail, that this prob wasn't the best idea for mailing. I love how it turned out, though.

Side View

Supplies Used: Bazzill CS, Cuttlebug Embossing folder, Shimmerz Pixie dust, Brilliance Ink Starlite Silver, Prima and KaiserCraft Bling, Prima Flowers, Maya Ribbon, Imaginisce Crystal Heart, Xyron 150, Sookwang Tape, Glue Dots

For a 6x6 inch card:
1. Cut 1 1/4 inch strips in lengths of 5 1/2, 4 and 2 1/2 inches.
2. Score the edges at 1/2 inch on each side to make tabs, trim top corners off. I also trimmed a square off the bottom of the tab, so the ribbon wraps around to the back.
3. Embellish strips as desired.
4. For the botton layer, measure 1 1/2 inches from the edge, 2 inches for middle layer and 2 1/2 inches for the top layer.
5. Cut Sookwang tape to cover tab only.
6. Tape the tabs so the scored edge of the tab covers the marks measured from the edge.
7. Embellish rest of the cards as desired.

Wedding Card

I made this card for my cousin who is getting married. I also thought I would enter in some contests and challenges.

I colored the Prima Bling Swirls with my Copic Marker to make them a golden color.
Supplies used: Bazzill CS, DCWV Metallic CS, Sizzix Embossing Template Flowers # 3, Autumn Leaves and Technique Tuesday Stamps, Distress Ink Dusty Concord and Antique Linen, Brilliance Ink Galaxy Black, Shimmerz Pixie Dust, Copic Marker Sepia, Prima Bling, Scrapworks Ribbon, pop dots, Glue Arts Pro, Xyron 150, Corner Rounder
